2017 on the surface seemed like a strange year.
The season started early, saw ideal weather conditions throughout and wrapped up just before the first significant rainstorm hit on October 16th. Thanks to a steady and mild summer and then some warm days at the end of the growing season, vineyards were able to achieve incredible balance in ripeness and maturity.
Tasting Notes
Lush, energetic, and intense, this gorgeous Cabernet begins with aromas of blackberry, and chocolate, as well as hints of mint and clove. On the palate, it displays lovely brightness, with firm, resolved tannins framing flavors of boysenberry and black currant. As it evolves in the glass, subtle sweet and savory notes are revealed, carrying the wine to a long, focused finishwith soft tannins.
Enjoy! Cheers!
PS. We were not affected by the fires of 2017 as our last wines were put to barrel on October 5th. It was an early season due to above average summer temperatures and some heat spikes in Aug and early September.
