Another ideal growing season—no frost, a mild spring and a long Indian summer as well as gorgeous fall weather.
In my 23 harvests of being around winemaking, 2013 is the first season where maturity and ripeness intersected at exactly the perfect moment. The juice was able to achieve a natural balance that I have never seen on the vine. 2013 is a very special vintage. As always, Waugh Cellars Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon.
Tasting Notes
A beautiful, pure expression of Cabernet Sauvignon characterizes this concentrated, impeccably well‐balanced wine. The color is dense purple and the wine offers up notes of spring flowers, a touch of background licorice and spices with wood and pure blackberry fruit. It’s full‐bodied with a complete mid‐palate and follow‐through on the palate. The wine can be approached now, or cellared for 20 or more years
Enjoy! Cheers!
