2015 was not kind in terms of quantity produced. Overall Waugh production was 50% of normal, with a few vineyards providing 60% less fruit. The good news about having less is that we weren't in a mad scramble for tank space. Mostly due to the drought, berries were smaller and just packed with color and flavor. What you will see in this 2015 Waugh Cab is incredible quality, dark color, beautifully concentrated fruit and amazing structure.
Do NOT miss out on this wine. We held a little back for Friends of Waugh members!
Tasting Notes
The core of ripe, dark fruit integrates seamlessly with subtle hints of vanilla, spice and toast while the lush, silky tannins round out the incredibly long finish. Dark and dense, and bursting with complexity, this wine will continue to age gracefully for many years to come.
Layering complexity throughout the mouthfeel of supple, sweet tannins with expressive ripe fruits and the smooth and supple tannin expresses all the hallmarks of an exceptional Waugh Cabernet.
Enjoy! Cheers!
