If you follow any of the major wine publications you may have read that 2011 was projected to be one of the worst vintages in many decades for Napa and Sonoma. But as many folks who have already tasted our 2011 Russian River Chardonnay can attest, that is just not the case. While the growing season was indeed challenging for winemakers, those that took care throughout the vineyard cycle were ready to handle what nature had to offer and were rewarded for their extra efforts.
The 2011 Waugh Cellars Russian River Pinot Noir doesn’t shy away from its vintage, it embraces it. Fresh strawberry and blackberry on the nose evolves into dark cherry and a hint of floral and spice notes. The mouthfeel is silky smooth and seductive and the wine offers amazing balance from first sip to last.
Enjoy! Cheers!
