The 2020 Waugh Zinfandel is special for several reasons, but the most important reason is; It’s the only Waugh Wine produced and bottled during the “Smoke” year of 2020. One of our Zinfandel vineyards was picked early and before smoke levels reached the point where the risk was just too great and we could not take the chance of delivering mediocre wine to our FOWCers. Our loan soldier, our last man standing, our beacon of hope. We thought we lost the entire vintage, but one wine, one 100 case lot saved the day, Waugh Zin.  

On the nose, incredible notes of raspberry and pomegranates and touches of Cocoa, baking spices and brown sugar. An elegant entry as with all Waugh Wines, with increasing notes of blackberry and cherry on the palate. Supple tannin and juicy acidity take hold for a long beautiful finish.
